Rail Infrastructure Assurance Group (RIAG)
The information on this page is supplied and managed by the Rail Infrastructure Assurance Group (RIAG).
RIAG is one of the working groups of the Infrastructure Safety Liaison Group (ISLG). Its membership is made up of contractors that satisfy at least two of the following criteria:
- Hold a Principal Contractors Licence
- Hold a Plant Operators Licence
- A CDM Principal Contractor
- A Train Operator (in possession of an ORR Safety Certificate)
It currently has 15 contractor representatives on it, as well as someone from Network Rail and the Railway Safety Standards Board. It is chaired by Nigel Wirtz from Babcock.
ISLG set RIAG problem statement so solve and RIAG, who meet every 8 weeks, attempt to address these issues by sharing best practice
and lessons learnt within their respective companies.
