Infectious Diseases

Infectious Diseases ImageAs well as protecting ourselves against hazards we can see, such as a high speed train or unstable equipment, we must also guard against those that remain invisible – such as infectious diseases.

Many of these, such as Weil’s disease, can be caught from bacteria that enter our bloodstream via an unprotected cut, sharps incident or body fluid splash. They can cause serious damage to our health, but will often go undetected until it’s too late to treat them.

The information leaflet below explains more about Weil’s disease and the steps one can follow to protect ourselves against them. Further down,  you can also find handy advice as to what to do in the event of a sharps incident or a body fluid splash.

Jennifer, as the campaign material came out some time ago, our stock has gone. But, if you a NR member of staff, you can order some from CATS printers, or if you are external, please feel free to take the pdf's to your company's printer of choice.
